Wow! Long time no post! Here's a production/matte painting that I just finished up. The goal was to depict a street scene in NYC during the 1900's, six months after the city was suddenly abandoned.

Self Portrait While Sick 08-13-08 Thursday, August 14, 2008 |

Yet another self portrait sketch - the best part of these... I don't have to pay myself modeling fees! I wouldn't have wanted a model around for this anyways as I feel like I'm coming down with something.

Self Portrait 07-24-08 Friday, July 25, 2008 |

Long time no see! Been really swamped with work and even though I have still been doing personal paintings, I haven't felt like posting them. However, just to let you guys know I am still alive here is a quickie self portrait. Just playing around and trying some new stuff.

Testing out some new "traditional" digital brushes via a self portrait.

d'artiste: Matte Painting 2 Thursday, September 20, 2007 |

What's this? Why is he reposting something he has already posted? Well, I was notified yesterday that my matte painting, Skull Island Revisited was selected for publication in Ballistic Publishing's d'artiste: Matte Painting 2. This is an ongoing series of books covering professional digital matte painting techniques with insight from top industry professionals and I am deeply honored to be selected. The book will be available for pre-order soon from Ballistic's website.

Oh and I redesigned my "real" website, Electric Synapse not too long ago as well.

Thesis Saturday, May 05, 2007 |

Stick a fork in me, I'm done! Aside from one class left on Monday, my time at Ringling is finally over and I will be graduating next week. I haven't been posting lately because I have been busy working on my senior thesis. The thesis paintings are all done now and the show opened tonight to a very good turnout.

Skull Island Revisited Monday, November 27, 2006 |

My take of a scene of Skull Island from King Kong. Original is 5700 pixels wide. This is probably the last matte you'll see out of me for a while (not that I post most of the mattes I do anyways) as I'm going to be focusing all my time and energy on my oil painting and drawing in preparation for graduate school (still don't know where yet) instead of splitting my time doing digital and traditional work.

Sketching from life Thursday, November 09, 2006 |

Wicked traffic caused me to be late to the studio today so I decided to just draw the model in my sketchbook. 35-40 mins?
